On Tuesday, February 7, 2017, community organizers and supporters gathered at the Arvin City Council to fight for a safe haven for undocumented immigrants.

For now, they'll have to wait.

The city council voted against a motion that would have put Arvin on the path to becoming a sanctuary city.

Supporters say that they're planning to return to the council with more and try again during the next meeting in two weeks.
