Coroner: Los Angeles man's drowning at Lake Isabella ruled an accident

LAKE ISABELLA, Calif. — Officials have released the cause and manner of death for the Los Angeles man found dead at the French Gulch Marina at Lake Isabella after going missing.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, 36-year-old Spencer Makaza went missing at Lake Isabella on June 9.

According to KCSO, the Makaza jumped from his boat to swim to shore, but had not surfaced in the area of the French Gulch Marina at Lake Isabella.

Makaza's body was found on June 15, according to authorities.

A post-mortem examination was conducted and the cause of death was determined to be drowning and the manner of death is accidental.
