Drop off unwanted and unused medications at a dozen locations in Kern County this Saturday on National Drug Take-Back Day.
The Kern County Sheriff's Office, Bakersfield Police and Tehachapi Police are hosting drop off locations throughout the county.
The day is an opportunity for the public to safely dispose of expired, unwanted or unused medications.
It's free, anonymous and no questions asked.
Only controlled, non-controlled and over the counter substances will be collected. Only pills, tablets, capsules and properly stored and leak-free liquids such as cough syrup will be accepted. Syringes or needles will not be accepted. Illegal or illicit substances will also not be accepted.
The following locations will be accepting drop offs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday:

- Tehachapi Substation, 22209 Old Town Road (Tehachapi)

- Bakersfield Police Department, 1601 Truxton Ave. (Bakersfield)
- Kaiser Permanente, 3501 Stockdale Hwy (Bakersfield)
