Man charged with murder after deadly Southwest Bakersfield shooting

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man has been charged with murder after a deadly shooting in Southwest Bakersfield.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, around 1:45 a.m. on April 19, 37-year-old Robert Raymond Dominguez, Jr. was shot multiple times at an apartment in the 4100 block of Parker Avenue. Dominguez was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

On April 23, BPD says 31-year-old Juan Pablo Torres was arrested in Weed, California for an outstanding warrant for weapons and narcotics charges related to the shooting.

BPD says detectives handling the investigation developed further information regarding Torres' involvement. BPD says an additional charge of murder was aded for Torres after he was booked into the Kern County Jail on April 29.
