BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — It's now been one month since John Wooner was reported missing, and Bakersfield Police say there has been no change in the search for the McFarland City Manager.

Wooner, who lives in Bakersfield, was last seen Tuesday, May 14 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bakersfield around 5:30 p.m. He was reported missing soon after.

He's described as 6 feet tall, 300 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a white dress shirt and khaki pants. He was last seen driving a McFarland city vehicle, a Silver Dodge Durango with CA #1390353.

On May 23, the McFarland City Council officially placed Wooner, 57, on paid administrative leave. He can remain on that status for up to 60 days, the council confirmed.

Two weeks later, on June 6, the City Council named David Tooley Interim City Manager in Wooner's absence.

Anyone with information about Wooner's disappearance is asked to call BPD at (661) 327-7111.
