As kids are enjoying their Thanksgiving break, we wanted to offer some at-home science activities to help pass the time while you're sweating over the stove making that big turkey dinner. For example, what is a turkey gizzard? And what's the purpose? And what about those beautiful Fall colors we're seeing in the trees around town? Why are they changing and what's the process there? In this week's Science Sunday we join beloved local science teacher Kristen Urquidez to break it all down:

Science Sundays: Thanksgiving Experiments

Here's the PDF for Kristen's Fall Leaf Walk for you and the kids to print out as you take a tour of your neighborhood and document the different colors you see:

Fall Leaf Walk

Here's a great lesson in why Fall leaves change color.

And for students to learn more about the anatomy of a turkey.
