Lindsey is your Southwest Bakersfield and Taft Neighborhood Reporter!

Lindsey Belsky joined the 23ABC News team in July 2026 as a Multimedia Journalist and On-Air Reporter. She serves as your Southwest Bakersfield and Taft Neighborhood Reporter, telling stories across television, digital and social media.

Originally from Los Angeles, California, Lindsey graduated with honors from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and minors in Journalism and Media Studies and Interdisciplinary Studies. While at SDSU, she served as Multimedia Editor for The Daily Aztec, where she helped lead the student newsroom, produced digital and broadcast coverage and relaunched the organization’s live newscast following a two-year pause. The broadcast later earned first place in the College Media Newscast category at the 2026 Society of Professional Journalists Journalism Awards Contest.

Before pursuing journalism, Lindsey spent much of her life training as a ballet dancer. After high school, she faced a major decision: continue toward a professional career in ballet or attend college and explore a new path. She chose college, where she discovered a passion for reporting, interviewing and connecting with people through storytelling. Lindsey credits her background in dance with teaching her discipline, creativity and how movement, emotion and small details can help tell a powerful story.

Along with her work as a reporter, Lindsey is a digital content creator who enjoys bringing viewers behind the scenes of television news and adapting stories for social media. She is especially passionate about finding the human moment that makes people care and creating journalism that feels informative, engaging and authentic across every platform.

Lindsey loves covering stories that introduce viewers to the people behind their communities, amplify voices that may otherwise go unheard and turn complicated local issues into reporting that feels personal and accessible.

Outside of the newsroom, Lindsey loves spending time at the beach, taking ballet, Lagree pilates classes, and being with her friends and family, whom she is incredibly close to. She also has a passion for fashion and content creation, sharing behind-the-scenes moments, lifestyle + beauty content and everyday experiences on TikTok and Instagram.
